All symbols operate in the society with a rather simple and discreet mechanism, granted that they run on top of trillions of highly complex biological cells, granted that when there are billions of societal units their interactions can be quite unpredictable. The actual snapping into place of the symbol into the brain is quick and not complex, however. What makes it seem busier is the fact that the symbol receiving apparatus has a small aperture that is only able to scan at a certain rate. Cognitive Dissonance' may result, leading to instabilities of various kinds, although error correction mechanisms normally function to prevent excess instability by merely editing out contradictory data, but the system can only tolerate a certain level of CD before the whole sky just opens up.
